From Rio to Paris

Alessandra Montagne was born in Rio de Janeiro and raised by her grandparents, market gardeners and poultry farmers on a family farm where everything was grown and transformed on site. After studying education and working as a teacher, she came to France in 1999 to study French and decided to stay.

A new path in cooking

After a career in another field, Montagne followed her passion for cooking, training under Michelin-starred chefs such as William Ledeuil and Adeline Grattard. In 2012 she opened her first restaurant, Tempero, which quickly won a devoted following for its personal, cross-cultural cooking.

Signature style

Montagne’s cuisine is guided by a philosophy of ethical, human cooking – respect for the environment and for the wellbeing of her teams. Her dishes weave together Brazilian food memories and French savoir-faire, warm and vibrant yet refined. It is heartfelt cooking with a strong social and ecological conscience.
