Wahabi Nouri is a German chef of Moroccan origin, holder of a Michelin star at his restaurant Piment in Hamburg. He occupies a unique place in German gastronomy, combining the aromas and spices of Morocco with the techniques of classic French cuisine.

Trained by two of the greatest names in German cooking, Harald Wohlfahrt and Eckart Witzigmann, Nouri has held his star for more than two decades with a cuisine unlike any other in the country.

From Casablanca to Germany

Wahabi Nouri was born in 1970 in Casablanca and trained in Germany, apprenticing from 1987 to 1990 before working at the Bamberger Reiter in Berlin. From 1991 he cooked in two three-star kitchens: the Schwarzwaldstube under Harald Wohlfahrt and the Restaurant Aubergine under Eckart Witzigmann in Munich.

Piment

Since 2000 Nouri has owned Restaurant Piment in the Hoheluft-Ost district of Hamburg, where he has held a Michelin star since 2001. Over more than twenty years he has made it one of the most distinctive fine-dining addresses in the city.
